A Uyghur militant group that helped to topple Bashar-al Assad has vowed to take the fight to China. The Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) threatened Beijing in a video released on Dec 8, the day the Syrian regime collapsed, showing its fighters holding machine guns and wearing military fatigues. “Now here in Syria, in all the cities here, we fight for Allah, and we will continue to do this in our Urumchi, Aqsu and Kashgar in the future,” said one masked man, listing cities in China’s Xinjiang region, from where the Uyghurs hail. “We will chase the Chinese infidels away.”Using the Uyghurs’ preferred name for their homeland, he added: “We have fought in Homs, in Idlib and we will continue the fight in East Turkistan.“Allah has given us a victory here. May he also grant us a victory in our own land.”

China is too strong compared to Syria. However, China does not have good exposure in fighting with Militancy and terrorism. If Uyghurs ally with a good inelegance agency of China's enemy country, properly train and motivates its fighters, maintains proper supply line of weapons and backs their operations with proper funding, they can fight a long war against China. They need to identify and target high value targets in China to be a noticeable group with negotiation potential.

Yeah I’ve heard about that book. Lots of battles between the talibs and the US military over 20 odd years. The US won all of em, but lost the war.

I wouldn't say they lost. They won it, in a hurry, but were always dealing with pockets of resistance, tough resistance and ambush guerilla tactics.. was impossible to hold land, even if it was ok to take land. They'd march in, clean villages on talis, do shuras with the elders, everyone all happy happy.. the moment they packed up and left, Talis fatt se wapas .. and village elders became tali loyalists again.
