The aircraft with Ebrahim Raisi on board suffered a "hard landing," according to some media.
A helicopter on which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was a passenger encountered a "hard landing" on Sunday, according to unconfirmed reports by Iranian state television and other media outlets.

The Interior Minister of Iran Ahmad Vahidi has reportedly confirmed that the helicopter with Raisi on board had made a hard landing in the city of Jolfa in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azarbaijan.

According to media reports, rescuers are trying to reach the aircraft, but the situation has been complicated by heavy fog and poor terrain.
A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has crashed in the northern Iranian region of East Azerbaijan, state-run media reported on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Raisi arrived in the province to join his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to take part in the commissioning ceremony of the Khudaferin hydroelectric complex and the opening of the Giz Galasy hydroelectric complex, both on the Araz River.

My assessment is that the helicopter has really crashed. No hard landing. If it was a hard landing, the other two helicopters would have known to find its location. Itโ€™s a tough call.

Itโ€™s not official, but prepare for the very bad news.
Raisi was seen as potential future Supreme Leade.
He was thought of as a potential successor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It looks more like a sabotage from with the Iranian power circle.
