Prostitution has always been a problem in India. We learn from the Rigveda that there were women who served as courtesans or prostitutes for various males. Courtesans were a well-established institution in the Mahabharata. The term “prostitution” refers to the sexual exploitation or abuse of people for profit. One of its sorts is child prostitution. It is described as the financial exploitation of a youngster through sexual activity. It is not just a problem in India; it affects people all around the world. It is a shockingly evil thing. The fundamental rights of children are violated in many ways, but nothing is more abhorrent than using them for prostitution or sexual exploitation. According to a report on child prostitution published in 1994 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, 30 percent of all child prostitutes were under the age of 20 and were in the six major cities of India, namely Calcutta, Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. According to the data, Nepal is the country that provides the most recognisable child prostitutes to Indian brothels.
