In Kebabs Category, I like the following :

What are Kebabs?

Kebab (also known as kebap, kabab, kebob, kabob, kibob, kebhav, kephav, qabab) is one of my favorite dishes. I like to have them with arabic bread but at times I have them with chappatis and rice too. Kebab is a meat dish which originated in Persia and now is famous all over the world. There are many varieties of kebabs available. Even though kebabs are usually made out of lamb, I prefer chicken. Kebab in persian means ‘fried meat’.

Chapli kabab

A delicacy from KPK province – marinated beef in spices and deep fried flat

– rolled meatballs originating in Peshawar and Kandahar

Seekh kabab

img_4855.jpg

– prepared with minced meat with spices and grilled on skewers. It is cooked in a Tandoor, and is often served with chutneys or mint sauce. It is often included in tandoori sampler platters, which contain a variety of tandoor cooked dishes. A seekh kebab can also be served in a naan bread much like döner kebab. Seekh kebabs are part of the traditional Pakistani diet.

Shami Kabab

Made of minced meat, with paste of lentils and chopped onion and coriander and green chillies usually added to the mixture, which is kneaded in a disc-like shape and fried. Best results are obtained when fried ghee. In some places, a binding agent is used to keep the kabab together.

Tandoori chicken Kebab

– chunks or strips of meat marina

Chicken Malai Tikka

maxresdefault.jpg

– chunks or strips of chicken marinated in a white yoghurt and garlic sauce and grilled

Reshami kebab
– minced chicken adequately seasoned and then barbecued on a charcoal grill

Bihari kebab
– chunks or strips of lean beef, marinated in a spicy yoghurt/chilli marinade and tenderized to perfection before slowly grilled on a charcoal flame

I honestly believe for us folk, our good ol aloo gosht or chickunn da salan is da highlight of our culture. Garam tandoori roti n salad……ohhh ho ho…..

That right dere is our real food! Finely diced ginger on top/ green chilli.

And no spices in dere….only salt lal mirach, and if yous gettin fancy add a little haldi or dhanya. Buss. In potohar plateau my home town…. Nobody eats spices or hot food.

For our seniors, cut down on da oil/tari now folks….before yous get in serious trouble. Cut out dat fat as much as yous can from da gosht.

Animal fat dangerous!

Man this KFC, Mickey D and Starbucks…..all three losing billions of dollars in Muslim countries. Total boycott guys. Malaysians have boycotted all three. Pepsi, coke, Pizza Hut, cadburys and nestle next guys….😝

Yes I am partial to mutton Biryani as well. Local Bangladeshi variety (Kacchi) is a variation of the Awadhi and Hyderabadi style. Chased down with a nice cold glass of Borhani.

I'm glad we never started this Western fast food chain hegemony in Bangladesh. Making and selling fast food in hygienic manner is not rocket science.

I mean why do you want to attach a Western name to food. It's not like local burgers or any fast food are any worse than offered by the Western brands. The best available in Dhaka upturns Mickey D's or KFC any day of the week...and there are even Saudi Halal chains like Herfy.

In India you have Nirulas in Delhi which started in 1977, been there many times. And every corner of Kolkata has Kathi Roll places, especially College Street. Dhaka is full of these 'fast food places", which are more like 'sit down' joints with nice service.

Every single starbucks you see is just chock full of people. They just show up there after breakfast bhai. They buy two coffees over a period of 6 hrs and just hang out there all day with free wifi and toilet facility......

Mofo's do it every single day man......its been like this last 2 decades now in all western countries.

No job no nothing.....saara din udher just surfing the net.

Then they go to their shitty/ dirty apartments when it gets dark......lol

Some claim to be playing the stock market but we all know better - eh? :p

Here is the casual burger joint (Farmhouse burgers) I frequent when I'm back in Dhaka. The place is rustic, disarmingly casual, balanced, as in consistently good food, hygienic clean decor and educated polite staff. What more could one ask for.

Nirulas !!!

Mutton sausage pijja + hot chocolate fuzz, bhai, scene ! Their footlongs even, jabardast pijja type on a lambi si 🍞 bread.

There's plenty of these trendy things here now, Har jageh doing proper steak and 🍔 🍖 🥓 🥩

Fancy shmancy types mei, but. It's good once in a while, street food and smaller lesser fancier establishments also do legendary level food.

Gujarati thali.

I have enjoyed ultra testy dishes in my office. Surat is very famous for its food. I have hundreds of Restaurants in 200 meter distance from my house. I hardly go there. I like the test of food grown organically where the test of basic food is very good. I don't like to eat too many items to gather.

There is a Gujarati place in midtown Los Angeles near Long Beach called Surati Farsan.

They have your usual Papdi chaats, Chholey Bhatura, Pav vada, Sev-based snacks and also - Dosas for lunch snacks. Just a lunch and late night snack place but also has sweet treats.

I can't tell if these are authentic Gujarati dishes but seems maybe only half of them are. I know anything with Pav rolls are Mumbai-origin and Dosas are South Indian food.

Yes. Gujarati diet is very balanced diet. Chapti (Fulka), various subjis, different pulses(Dal), Rice, butter milk, milk, ghee, Bajari Rotala etc.

Here are some descriptions of common Bangladesh dishes, there is lots of overlap with main dishes and snacks from both Indian and Pakistan. However Rosogolla and Rasmalai and many other sweets were all originated in our area (greater Bengal) as sweets were offered during Hindu Puja ceremonies and celebrations. There are specific areas where they originated. For example - Rasmalai came from Cumilla, which was the former capital of the Kingdom of Tripura (Varman Kings - yes of RD and SD Varman fame). Bengalis are inveterate connoisseurs of sweets.

I knew you were a gujju. 😄

My brother in law just came back from Surat with my winter quota of Salaam Pak.

Close cousin of Parsi vasanu.

So all those fish transported to other states ?

States as well as countries. Many guys have left fisheries in influence of Pujya Pandurang Dada and other Hindu priests. In Saurashtra region, eating non veg is very uncommon. Most of Muslims even do not consume meat or egg. In south Gujarat, meat is consumed more compared to Saurashtra. My Bengali friend has become vegetarian. His wife don't like that. I have seen many guys turning vegetarian after living in Gujarat.

Believe me, nothing test batter than Sweets. My favorite food is Pooran poli. When it is made, I do not eat anything except Puran poli. Dudhpak is one more such dish. It takes 3 hour to make but when it is made, it test batter than anything else. Gajar Halwa made in cow milk is one of their competitor. Churma Laddu is always lead the list of Mithai.

It was eons ago I worked in Gujjuland, and only for a few months. I don't know what is the situation now. That time not easy to get non veg in Hindu areas. Some brave people were operating in malls, it was ok. In Muslim areas it's not the same as Muslim areas in say Mumbai or Delhi. Not the same taste

Tandoori chicken and beer mangta, not your dalit 💩 crap.

Chhi Chhi. Bad food. When I went to IIM Kozikde for Convocation, I witnessed a totally different culture. All other alumnae were enjoying party with Wine and non veg. I had food issue. Can not eat there. Some how managed food from somewhere and ate at some other location. Even ladies were drinking and eating Non veg and dancing. Myself and other Gujarti student were odd men out.

Gujarati food enjoy karane ke liye Gujju Dil Chahiye sahab ji. Aap logo ka kaam nahi wo.

Depends on the financial system. If you have money, Pakistan is probably the best place to be at. If you are broke or arent rich than "Pakistan say Zinda bhaag"

It's one of the cheapest places to live if you have outside valuable currency and a benefit in nicer locations like Islamabad. Islamabad is pretty decent, better than any Indian or other South Asian city.

Oh c'mon man - enough people do like it - and for good reason too.

100% Iranic, or have some Dardic and Indic in you?
We are originally migrants from Jowzjan in Afghanistan. During the communist era as commies were going mad max in Afghanistan. I dont think there are any Dardic population or influences there.

That is ok but saab ji you must acknowledge that Gujjus are superior. India is a backward country without Gujjus, Gujju's leadership and Gujju's diplomatically. What say???😃😃😃

From what I have heard he really enjoys the company of pre puberty dudes and dressing em up. Proper bachabaaz
Likes his vodka and counting his hard cash greenbacks, apni medieval warrior caravans pe he'd take along a bunch of whores too, to satiate every need his riflemen might have.

US CIA green berets ne le lia tha isko apnay lapatey mein.. paisa and vodka de ke

Yes hardcore stuff. Uzbeks are fighting in Middle East and Ukraine too. Not long ago Uzbek militants were storming military bases in Pak like PNS Mehran. Our communities went through tough times cause of them moddafuckas

I thought you were referring to pork. Not a big fan of it unless it is bacon or some ham slices in a sandwich. Once ordered a pork sizzler, hated it. It was on bone, smelly, fatty.
make that quality (proper smoked and spiced) type goron ka pork.. local *&*&*&*& here is tutty level pork, yuck.. ghatiya qualtee rubbery non spiced bacon.. only over cooked to the point where you can soften it a bit type gravies me theek hai...

expensive hi khreedo, accha khreedo.. danish smoky ham and pork/beef whatever. not this local ghatiya maal
